Lloyd's of London
Today Lloyd's is the world's leading insurance market, housed in an award-winning modern building in Lime Street in the City of London. Its origins, however, lay in the more modest surroundings of a 17th century coffee house.
In the 17th Century London's importance as a trade centre led to an increasing demand for ship and cargo insurance.
London Fire Brigade (LFEPA)
The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) is a functional body of the Greater London Authority (GLA) and was established under the Greater London Authority Act 1999. Its principal purpose is to run the London Fire Brigade.
The 17 members of LFEPA are appointed annually by the Mayor of London. Eight are nominated from the London Assembly, seven from the London Boroughs and two are Mayoral appointees.

Sefton Primary Care Trust (PCT) was established on October 1 st 2006, replacing both South Sefton PCT and Southport and Formby PCT. However, with effect from September 2008, we are now known as NHS Sefton. We serve a population of around 280,000 people across Sefton, the most northerly borough of Merseyside.
Northampton General Hospital
We provide a full range of acute clinical services from Northampton General Hospital and Danetre Hospital in Daventry. We are a designated cancer centre and have recently invested in a number of additional specialist services, including in-patient renal services and interventional cardiology. All elective inpatients and emergency admissions are screened for MRSA. As part of our work to improve clinical outcomes we are taking part in a national patient safety programme and have invested in systems to capture patients views on the service we provide. Northamptonshire County Council
Northampton is administered by both Northampton Borough Council, run from May 2007 for the first time by the Liberal Democrats, and also Northamptonshire County Council. From 2005 the latter has been controlled by the Conservative Party. The Borough Council runs services such as housing, waste collection and smaller planning items in the Borough. The County Council looks after social services, education and libraries in the whole county. Since April 2006 major planning decisions such as large housing schemes and new roads have been the responsibility of the WNDC.
